Closed-door roundtable "Regulating Responsibility: Ireland, Big Tech, and the Sanctions Imperative" in Dublin

🔐 On 15th July in Dublin, PR Army, together with the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, co-hosted a closed-door roundtable under Chatham House Rule, "Regulating Responsibility: Ireland, Big Tech, and the Sanctions Imperative". Centred on Ireland’s unique role in closing these enforcement gaps, the roundtable brought together key Irish and international government officials, EU representatives, researchers, and civil society to explore urgent solutions.

With Ireland acting as a digital gatekeeper, we explored how algorithmic systems can amplify malign influence and how Irish regulators can act decisively to uphold EU law, democratic resilience, and security, in line with the goals of the EU Democracy Shield.

This pilot roundtable marks the beginning of a broader initiative to foster robust cooperation between Ireland, the EU, other Member States, researchers, the private sector, and civil society. Our goal is to support Ireland in honing its sanctions enforcement, drawing on European expertise and best practices to counter illicit information operations and build an effective, rapid response capability.
